Yamaha Music Education Courses

Music Classes for Children

• Age 3: Music Wonderland (MW).  Begin your child’s musical journey with this one year course. Children learn in the best possible way for this age by listening, singing, dancing and even playing a keyboard.
   
• Age 4-5: Junior Music Course (JMC).  This two-year program is the foundation of the Yamaha system. It includes comprehensive musical training for beginners starting at age four.
   
• Age 6-8: Young Musician's Course (YMC).  This well-rounded musicianship program is designed for beginners aged six to eight.

Advanced Programs for Children

• Junior Extension Course (JXC).  Most JMC graduates continue their studies in JXC from age six to seven.

• Junior Advanced Course (JAC).  JXC alumni work closely with teachers to fine-tune their individual talents from age eight to nine.

• Junior Special Advanced Course (JSAC).  JMC graduates with strong natural aptitude continue their education in this accelerated curriculum course. Entrance is by audition only to six and seven year-olds.
